Settings
These settings are not just to make using this site better, but they are an experiment to see if your privacy is worth more than small conveniences. Most settings pages require sharing your personal data, usually by making an online account or using cookies to track you. We setup a different system.
All of the data you enter on this page is stored on your device and stays on your device. Your settings are not saved to cookies, the cloud, a server, or an online account. This does mean your settings are not shared across devices (a small convenience), but it does mean we do not and cannot steal, sell, or take your data.
We are hoping that by small experiments like these, we can start a new trend where your data stays yours. We're also hoping that there is a trend to giving features to users without requiring them to give up their privacy by creating an account.
Like most experiments, not much may come from this one. However, we believe that this is an experiment worth trying, and since tech companies have repeatedly shown they won't try this kind of experiment, we decided to step up to the plate.
